The 100% online Master of Education in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment will introduce and cultivate the best research-based educational practices to strengthen candidate knowledge of curriculum design, instruction, assessment, mentoring, and coaching.

This Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment program of study complements the Adrian College Ribbons of Excellence and is designed to introduce and cultivate research-based best practices in instructional and assessment strategies and methods. Completion of this program may position graduates for advancement in school districts, leading to higher pay. In addition, this degree may ensure job security. This program does not lead to the Michigan Teaching Certificate at the elementary, secondary, or K-12 level.

The K-12 Reading Specialist Endorsement, is a fully online program that prepares candidates who already hold teaching certificates in Michigan, for an additional K-12 endorsement. This endorsement provides teachers with specialized literacy knowledge and skills that go beyond that of initial teacher preparation. Candidates will take coursework to strengthen their understanding of literary content and curriculum; instruction and assessment; and how to organize and implement school and district reading programs and essential leadership, coaching, and core teaching practices.

Teachers Deserve a Break Discount Program

Over the past few years, Adrian College has carefully monitored the value of this program to our Michigan and Ohio teachers and administrators. In order to improve affordability, introduce greater flexibility, and make the Master of Education program more accessible for Michigan K-12 educators, we are excited to offer a special discounted tuition program to Michigan and Ohio educators called Teachers Deserve a Break. Any Michigan and Ohio teacher or administrator will only pay 50% of the Adrian College tuition rate and may take up to 18 graduate credit hours in this tuition discount program. After the 18th credit hour, Michigan and Ohio teachers and administrators are automatically eligible for admission through application to the Master of Education program.

Adrian College is proud to support educators and invites all Michigan and Ohio K-12 teachers and administrators to apply for graduate study through our Teachers Deserve a Break discount program.
